At Laser & Mohs Dermatology of New York we offer several Restylane products to improve the signs of wrinkles. These dermal fillers are a great option for those looking for skin rejuvenation. They were developed in Sweden, and since 1996, it has helped millions of patients in 70 countries achieve younger looking skin.
The science behind Restylane® is hyaluronic acid, which is present in youthful skin, but recedes and changes in structure as we age. The injections boost your natural supply of hyaluronic acid, which will smooth out signs of aging and enhance your natural beauty.
What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a clear injectable gel formulation of hyaluronic acid. It is the world’s most studied wrinkle filler, with more than a decade of use. Restylane® and Restylane® Lyft are indicated for mid-to-deep dermal implantation, and have been used in more than 10 million treatments in over 65 countries worldwide. Restylane® is biocompatible with the human body and is broken down naturally.
Restylane Products We Offer
- Restylane® Silk
- Restylane® Lyft
- Restylane® Refyne
- Restylane® Defyne
What Can Restylane® Improve?
Restylane products add volume and fullness to the skin. The use of the injectables correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. These include:
- The lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds or laugh lines)
- Lipstick lines (the area just below the nose and above the upper lip)
- Marionette lines (the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline)
- Worry lines on the forehead
- Glabellar lines between the eyebrows
- Smile lines (adjacent to the mouth)
- Periorbital lines (crow’s feet)
Restylane® Lyft is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid. The injectable is specifically formulated to add fullness like your body’s own hyaluronic acid. Similar to Restylane®, Lyft adds volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
Restylane® Vs. Restylane® Lyft
The difference between the two injectables is the average size of the particles and the depth of injection. On average, the gel particles in Restylane® Lyft are larger than those in Restylane®, which makes a good choice for wrinkles that benefit from a deeper injection into the skin.
Restylane® Refyne & Defyne
The newest additions to the Restylane® family are Refyne and Defyne. These fillers are specifically formulated for the improvement of smile lines (marionette). These fillers leave our patients with a more naturally youthful looking face.
Though both of them target the same area on the face, they do have some key differences. Restylane® Refyne is able to target mild to moderate lines and wrinkles while Defyne is able to target more moderate to severe smile lines. Both Refyne and Defyne are long lasting, with results lasting up to 12 months.
