Restylane Lyft Introduction
When you think of volume loss with aging, most people think of the cheeks. Thanks to a decline in the production of collagen — one additional percent decline every year after the age of 20 — as we hit middle age our cheeks flatten and sag. At Laser & Mohs Dermatology of New York, we use Restylane® Lyft™ to return volume to the cheeks.

What is Restylane Lyft?
The FDA approved Restylane Lyft™ specifically to return volume to deficient cheeks, the mid-face area, and the backs of the hands. You may not have heard about Lyft™; that’s because it was formerly known as Perlane. The hands are areas we often forget when thinking about aging. But as the skin thins our veins and tendons take on elevated prominence. Injections of Restylane® Lyft™ return volume, making your hands look younger.
As with all Restylane® products, Lyft™ is a hyaluronic acid filler. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body whose job is to hydrate, plump, and firm the skin. It does this by binding with nearby water molecules. Because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance, all Restylane® fillers are classified as “natural” fillers.
